Thierry Barbe . A wonderfully atmospheric miniature from French bassist-composer, Thierry Barbe. Echoes of Ravel and Prokofiev imbue the piece with a modern yet dream-like quality. Ni-Car uses the lyrical and melodic range of the double bass, suitably supported by a mesmeric and rhapsodic piano accompaniment. This is the second of a three movement suite (Occi-mental is the 3rd piece) which can also be successfully performed as a stand-alone work.
