Teppo Hauta-aho . A magnificent work and dedicated to the American virtuoso, Edgar Meyer. There are challenges aplenty for the adventurous bassist and it uses the entire range of the instrument with much impressive writing and striking harmonic passages. It was premiered at Bass-Fest 2002 by the composer and the piece pushes the boundaries yet again, combining musicality, inspiration and virtuosity in equal measure. Effective in performance..
