Tony Osborne . Scored for Piano, Double Bass & Drums, Mood Swings was composed in 1997 for David Heyes (Db) and Gershwin & Co. and was premiered at London's Purcell Room that year. The jazz suite lasts about 10 minutes and the bass plays pizzicato throughout. The three movements are well contrasted, demonstrating Osborne at his jazzy best, and although it ventures into low thumb position there are few technical challenges for the good intermediate bassist (c.Grade 7/8). Player and audience friendly, this is effective in performance, and the first two movements will also work as a duo for double bass and piano. Cool music for cool musicians!. Performance Level: 7;8..
