This is a tricky but rewarding Trumpet Sonata by German composer Paul Hindemith. He was a distinguished viola player and an important composer during the first half of the 20th century. With leaps and very deliberate textured melody, this is a dramatic and sombre work exemplifying Hindemith's skill and instrumental sensitivity. The solo trumpet part is also included on a separate insert.
