Peter Flinn . A jazz-inspired work for the young bassist. The music has great rhythmic drive and momentum, with a strongly independent piano accompaniment which supports a lively and upbeat solo line. Arco and pizzicato techniques are both used to good effect in Peter Flinn's first work for double bass. Composed for Double Bass 2000 and premiered at Wells Cathedral School, this is a useful addition to the intermediate repertoire with much player and audience appeal. Grade 6 level..
