Vojta Kuchynka . Czech bassist-composer Vojta Kuchynka wrote many works for double bass, displaying the various facets of the solo instrument but always keeping Czech lyricism and folk idioms to the fore. A composition student of Dvorak, Kuchynka writes in a traditional and accessible style combining melodic interest with technical bravura and most of his works remain in manuscript. Recital Music are planning to publish a number of these pieces as part of their ongoing 'Heritage Series'.
