Lascu, Saul and Ulac Arr: Murphy . Three pieces, newly discovered and edited by Professor E.H. Murphy, are ideal concert repertoire for the intermediate bassist. Basswaltz by Carl Christoph Saul is a charming late 19th-century waltz; Habanera by Carol Lascu (1880-1934) is an evocative Spanish dance by a Romanian composer who settled in France, and Et Puis... by Sainte-Cecile Ulac (1898-1946) refers to the addition of a surprising little coda to what otherwise seems to be a sort of Nocturne.
