Wilfred Josephs . Composed as an encore for Gary Karr, Alice's Reverie uses much of the solo range of the double bass and is a good opportunity to demonstrate the lyrical potential of the instrument and with no fear of heights. Taken from the children's opera 'Through the Looking Glass' this would fit easily into any recital. 'The music is short and simple, though far from simplistic...with a highly lyrical approach.'
